Nissi Beach Resort, Ayia Napa – Cyprus Wedding Photographer

Naomi and Dale chose Beziiqué to be their Nissi Beach Resort Ayia Napa Cyprus Wedding Photographer, here is their story :

We have been together for 10 and a half years, met at school, through our friends. We were aged 16 (Dale) and 14 (Naomi) and have been together ever since. :)!

Dale proposed on Christmas day 2015, and it was a total surprise, I had no idea. After proposing he let me in on his actual proposal plan. Dale ditched this at last minute and opted for a Christmas day proposal instead. So we were flying to Australia on boxing day to travel around for 6 weeks. Dale had planned to propose on a beach on the tiny little island on the great barrier reef. Lady Elliot Island.

However, this was towards the end of our trip and Dale was nervous of carrying the ring around for 5 weeks before- he thought he would either lose it, or I would find it and ruin the surprise. His proposal was still perfect :)! He chose the ring on his own and I couldn’t have chosen it better myself. A white gold solitaire ring, with 2 twisting bands inlaid with diamonds and leading to one prominent diamond on the rings head and two smaller accompanying diamonds beside.

Tell us about your dress:

The dress was bought from a local wedding shop ‘Blush’ and the designer was Diane Harbridge. It had a hand beaded and lace bodice, with a sheer sweetheart neckline and flowing tulle skirt. The full back piece was sheer and appliqued lace with delicate ivory buttons.

The Groom was wearing a light grey crosshatch three-piece suit from ASOS, with a short-sleeved shirt and dusky pink tie- finished off with brown shoes and brown belt.

We opted for artificial flowers from the florist Decoflora, mainly so that we could get the dusky pink colour in them, and also so that we can now keep them forever. Cream and pink roses, with hydrangeas, greenery, and pink berries. The Groom and Groomsmen had cream rose button holes to match. The bridesmaids were in Dusky Pink lace and Tulle skirt dresses, which were a very similar design to the flowers girls who were in Ivory lace and tulle skirt flower girl dresses. We tried to get all the dresses, including mine and my Mums, matching somehow- with material and or colour. I don’t think we really had a theme as such but tried to run the dusky pink colour throughout the wedding as well as the lace. ?

When we first got engaged we were torn between getting married where we live, in the lake district, or going abroad. After lots of research, we decided that Cyprus was the perfect destination for our wedding. We always wanted a laid back and more relaxed day- less of the formalities. Getting married by the sea with beautiful surroundings is was we really wanted- and we found that in Nissi beach. It was exactly what we had planned and hoped for, an intimate ceremony and celebration with close family and friends.

We planned to separate the night before after a family meal in a beautiful restaurant along Nissi Avenue. I stayed with Mum and my bridesmaids in our Suite, Dale stayed with one of his Usher, my brother in law (and flower girl- his niece). The morning of the big day, myself, Mum, Bridesmaids and Flower girls all headed to the Nissi salon for hair and make-up and had a lovely relaxed morning getting ready with champagne in hand. The laid back and chilled atmosphere kept all nerves at bay.

The walkway to the ceremony, through a stunning flower ‘tunnel’ (not sure what its called), linked arms with my Mum, was amazing. I’ve never seen a more beautiful isle. I had planned to walk down to Cristina Perri- A thousand years part 2 and as soon as I heard it I knew it was the right choice and seemed to just fit the surroundings and moment perfect.

The ceremony was stunning, under the gazebo in the beautiful gardens overlooking the beach. The decor was simple, white wooden Tiffany chairs draped with lace bows, long white drapes, and cream roses. After the ceremony and photographs, we had a relaxed cocktail reception with the amazing Aimie singing. Sipping Pimms, enjoying good food and listening to great music/singing in the beautiful sunshine, with our family and friends, was exactly what we had wanted and we were not disappointed.

We were so happy to hear guests comment on how amazing and the day was and how they enjoyed how relaxed and enjoyable it was. Guests could also not stop talking about the singer Aimie, and how fab she was. We had lots of fun on our sunset shoot, and although originally anxious about all the ‘posing’ we were going to have to do, we were pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable and relaxed the shoot was- so glad we opted for it as we got some amazing photographs to keep forever.

The Cyprus sunsets are amazing and not to be missed. Our evening reception was in the Rondavel- down on Nissi beach, surrounded by sea and sand it was stunning. We planned the inside to be pretty stripped back- not too much decor, but keeping with the dusky pink and lace theme. Lace tables runners and bows, dusky pink flowers in the center, handmade favour bags with pink lace and flower decoration. Also, we had white drapes and lanterns hanging around the outside which gently swayed in the wind all night.

We had the LOVE lights which totally made it, they looked great in the lower tier of the venue. We opted for a Mediterranean buffet style meal, and it was amazing. The food did not disappoint and was by far the best wedding food I have ever had!! Everybody thoroughly enjoyed it. Ditching the speeches kept the ‘formalities’ away and were a brill choice as there was not ‘all day nerves’ for the groom and best man- instead, everybody could just sit back, relax and enjoy every minute of the day and night.

Our first dance song was an easy choice. The lyrics in Ed Sheeran- Perfect fit our relationship ‘perfectly’- especially, ‘we were just kids when we fell in love’.The night was everything we hoped for. After the first dance, everybody was up dancing, enjoying themselves and we literally danced the night away.

The next morning Nissi beach kindly treat us to a wonderful champagne breakfast in our room which we enjoyed on our terrace overlooking the beach. We literally had the best wedding day ever. Everything went as planned and I think we can safely say that everything was actually much better than we could have ever imagined.

There is nothing we would have changed about the day at all! And one of the best things- the celebrations didn’t end on the day as we then had another whole week with our guests- enjoying the sun and exploring Cyprus. We were obviously overwhelmed with how amazing the day was, and happy with every decision we made, however, two of the best decisions has got to be the photography and videography (not sure what its called), as we now get to re-live the day whenever we want with photo’s and a video that we can treasure forever.

What was the favorite part of your wedding day:

It’s hard to choose a ‘favorite’ part of the day as it was perfect from start to finish. However, if we had to choose, it would have to be the moment we said ‘I do’ in the beautiful Nissi Beach gardens, overlooking the amazing beach and surrounded by our family and friends.

We chose Nissi beach as it was pretty much exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful gardens and surroundings, on the beach, amazing resort. We wanted to get married on, or overlooking, the beach and we could do that at Nissi. Also, as soon as we started talking to Marios, the wedding co-ordinator, we knew we were in good hands and knew that they would do pretty much anything to make our day perfect for us, and that was important to us. The photographs of Nissi Beach Resort are stunning but they really do not actually show just how amazing the place is- you will only see this when you are there!

 Food/Music Evening Entertainment/ Dj / Fireworks:

The food was a huge Mediterranean spread, with some of the best food I have ever had. It was a perfect choice for the location and venue, and also for the relaxed style of our wedding. We had the hotel DJ who was great- he spoke to us before and asked what kind of music we wanted to play. He played fantastic up to date music and had everybody up dancing all night. He was also keen to take requests, much to the guest’s delight. You know the DJ is good when the dance floor is never empty. First dance described in above question :). The LOVE lights and ‘up-lights’ in the dance floor tier of the venue really added to the atmosphere.

I know it sounds cliche, but literally just chill out and enjoy it. Do not stress about the little things because at the end of the day they really do not matter. Have the day exactly how you want it, not how you think it has to be, or not how somebody says you should have it, do whatever makes it perfect for you! Also, get a fantastic photographer and videographer, because when it is all over this is what you will have to remember and re-live the day forever, so you want it to be amazing!

Nick and Aimie were fantastic from the moment we booked them. Nick was always on the end of a message, replying to my questions and settling any worries I had. On the day, the guys were great! They made us feel so relaxed and it was as if we had known them for years. We weren’t looking forward to having to ‘pose’ a lot, but it wasn’t like that at all with Nick and Aimie. It was much more natural and relaxed which was perfect! We could not be happier with our photo’s- there are stunning. Thank you, Nick and Aimie.
